A lot of churches or temples unfortunately are thought of as easy targets for vandalism. Here is a floorplan showing how security camera can keep out unwelcome trespassers.
Goals: The main goal of placing security cameras in and around a place of worship, is preventing an unwelcome guest from coming in, the safety of the members, and vandalism around the property. They often can be dormant on certain days allowing for a lot of vacant time. The time lapse gives vandals the opportunity to destruct, and then never be caught. Also, a church parking lot can often be secluded or dark. Members could be concerned about walking to their cars alone, or in late hours of the night.
